Sources: Crystal Palace to open Phillips talks in next days

Crystal Palace are to offer a new deal to midfielder Killian Phillips in the coming days in a bid to secure his future at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

A handful of clubs in England and Scotland want to sign Phillips on loan this season and will be given the opportunity once his contract at Palace is confirmed.

The Irish U-21 international spent last season on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town and impressed with consistently top performances.

Phillips has had heavy interest from a number of Championship sides and is also becoming a big target for clubs in Scotland’s top flight.

The 21-year-old has one year left on his deal with it due to expire at the end of June 2024 and Palace are keen to open up talks over a new deal.

The expectation is talks will go smoothly and Phillips will sign a new long term deal at Selhurst Park before setting out on loan to continue his development.
