Sources: Achraf Hakimi wants to join Man City after deal agreed

Achraf Hakimi is on the list of potential replacements for Kyle Walker at Manchester City this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The PSG fullback would be keen on a move to the Etihad and is a favourite of manager Pep Guardiola and his recruitment team.

The French Champions would demand a big fee for Hakimi however its understood that City are willing to pay a premium price for a new right back.

Benjamin Pavard is also on the list and the talks between Bayern and City over Walker make his signing possible with Bayern open to a big deal for the full-back.

Wallker is closing in on a move worth around £15 million to Germany and City have had a desire all summer to freshen up their defensive options.

The England International will tell manager Guardiola that he wants to move to Bayern and has already verbally agreed terms over a deal.

Hakimi is keen to play in the English Premier League and under Guardiola but his future may depend on whether City go for Pavard as their first option.

There is a possibility that Pavard could become part of a swap deal that sees Kyle Walker go to Bayern, putting the brakes on a move for PSG’s defender.

The Treble winners have already added Matteo Kovacic to their ranks and are closing in on a world record deal for defender Joško Gvardiol.

Hakimi was regular starter for PSG last season, playing 2,645 minutes of football across 36 appearances in all competitions. He also contributed four goals and five assists in the 2022/23 campaign.
