'Incredibly grim', 'Points will be dropped' - Celtic fans react to confirmed Reo Hatate news

Celtic fans have reacted after Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Reo Hatate will be out injured for two months.

The midfielder picked up a hamstring injury in the Hoops’ 2-2 draw in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday (25 October).

After two goals and two assists in all competitions this season, the Japanese international could miss up to 12 games for Celtic if he does not return before Christmas.

Hatate sustained another injury setback earlier in the campaign and missed two league clashes and a Scottish League Cup tie with a calf muscle tear.

Celtic dropped more points in the league against Hibernian on Saturday in Hatate’s absence, with Rangers just five points behind the Hoops.

One fan claimed that Celtic will drop points through a lack of creativity amid the Hoops’ growing injury list.

Other fans urged some underperforming Hoops to step up in Hatate’s absence after his “incredibly grim” injury.

Another feared the impact of Hatate’s absence and questioned which options at Rodgers’ disposal would be the best replacement.

Another claimed that there was no replacing the 25-year-old’s creativity at all.

One fan questioned the competence of Celtic’s medical team after Hatate’s second injury of the season.

Another fan expressed their feelings on Hatate’s injury with one simple word.

One fan feared Hatate could be like former Hoop Derk Boerrigter who struggled with consistent injury setbacks in his three-year spell at Celtic Park between 2013 and 2016.
