Sources: Crystal Palace very keen to agree Eberechi Eze deal as Man City swoop

Crystal Palace remain very keen to tie Eberechi Eze down to a new deal as talks are readied, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that several top Premier League sides are monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation, with his current contract set to expire in June 2025.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (16 October) that Man City have a continued interest in Eze despite failing to land him during the summer window.

Sources say Pep Guardiola and City sporting director Txiki Begiristain are both “huge admirers” of the versatile attacking midfielder.

Eze is now a regular for England following his stellar performances since joining Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020.

He has featured in Gareth Southgate’s last two squads but was omitted from the latest side after picking up a hamstring injury prior to the international break.

According to the London Evening Standard (3 October), he could be out until mid-November with the problem.

Eze has made nine appearances across all competitions this season, notching one goal and two assists.

The 25-year-old has become a key player for Crystal Palace, notching 20 goals and 13 assists in 112 appearances.

He is not the only player in high demand at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles convinced France Under-21 international Michael Olise to sign a new four-year contract at the club earlier this year – despite interest from Man City and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Thursday (19 October) that Crystal Palace are preparing to approach defender Marc Guehi about a potential new contract amid interest from Man United.

Sources have also told Football Insider (17 October) that Roy Hodgson’s side are working hard to offer Tyrick Mitchell a new contract at the club.
