Kieran Maguire makes £650m Man City prediction in 'huge' new reveal

Man City could top the record-breaking revenues posted by Man United this week when they reveal their own financial accounts.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the financial benefits City will gain from winning the treble last season.

City posted club-record revenues of £613million in their latest 2021/22 accounts, with the club making a healthy profit of £41.7million.

Following a treble-winning season under Pep Guardiola, City are expected to top that figure again in their upcoming 2022/23 accounts.

On top of their Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup success, City will also receive a boost in matchday revenue because of the extra matches played while additional commercial deals signed throughout the season will also contribute to an increase in revenue.

City’s arch-rivals, Man United, revealed on Thursday (26 October) that they generated £648million in revenue in 2022/23 – the highest figure for a Premier League side ever.

However, Maguire expects City to match United’s £648million revenue when they release their financial accounts in the coming months.

Manchester City have been the top dog in the Premier League for at least the last two seasons,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

They have enjoyed plenty of domestic success and have made huge progress within European competitions by winning the Champions League last season.

So in terms of revenue generation, I think it will be neck and neck between them and Manchester United.

Manchester City will generate huge money from winning the Champions League in terms of additional prize money and some bonuses.”
