'Never wear that shirt again', 'Actually unbelievable' - Man United fans react to Christian Eriksen display gainst Man City

Man United fans have reacted to Christian Eriksen’s display as Erik ten Hag’s side were beaten 3-0 by rivals Man City on Sunday (29 October).

The 31-year-old started alongside Sofyan Amrabat in the Red Devils’ midfield – with Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes playing in more advanced roles.

Eriksen’s last Premier League start came in the 3-1 defeat against Brighton last month (16 September).

The defeat against City leaves United eighth in the Premier League table having won five of a possible ten league games this season.

As per WhoScored, Eriksen recorded a pass success rate of just 71.1%, failed to complete a dribble and was dispossessed twice.

One fan claimed the Denmark international, alongside Marcus Rashford, should not wear the Man United shirt again.

More fans shifted the blame onto Ten Hag, with one claiming it made “no sense” to play Eriksen against Man City.

One more supporter insisted the ex-Tottenham midfielder’s continued presence in the United lineup is a hallmark of how “average” the Old Trafford side have become.

Another claimed it was “unbelievable” to see Eriksen still on the pitch after 80 minutes – with the midfielder eventually substituted four minutes from time.

One supporter insisted Eriksen and McTominay should have been sold in the summer window instead of Fred – who joined Fenerbahce.

And another claimed it was time for United’s big guns, including Rashford and Eriksen, to be dropped in favour of some of the club’s most promising youngsters.
