Man City star Rodri 'lost the plot' after Nottingham Forest star 'said something to him - Agbonlahor

Morgan Gibbs-White must have provoked Rodri leading to his red card for Man City against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said there is no way Rodri would have “lost the plot” unless Gibbs-White said something to wind him up.

As shown on Sky Sports (23 September), the 27-year-old was shown a straight red card after grabbing the Forest star around the neck despite his side being 2-0 in front.

The midfielder has been handed a three-match ban following the sending off and will miss the crucial game against Arsenal on 8 October.

Pep Guardiola’s side went on to win 2-0 even though they were reduced to ten men for the second half of the match.

McAvennie insisted words must have been exchanged between the pair for Rodri to lash out.

He lost the plot a bit,” he told Football Insider.

I wonder if Gibbs-White said something to him because I do not know why he would react like that otherwise. Rodri would not react like that for a tackle or a shove, I think the boy has said something to him.

That is the only reason that I could ever see Rodri losing the plot like that.

I am not sticking up for Rodri you should not lose it like that but he is usually so calm and collected and pulling people away from trouble but something has clearly been said.
