'Worst football player I've ever seen', 'I'm being 110% honest when I say this...' - Rangers fans react to Cyriel Dessers display v Sparta Prague

Rangers fans have slammed Cyriel Dessers after his performance against Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday night (26 October).

The Nigerian started in Philippe Clement’s first match as the new Ibrox boss and got the nod once again when the Gers took the trip to Prague for the group-stage clash.

Dessers has been under fire since moving to Glasgow, but his subpar performance at the Letna Stadium did little to change the minds of the Ibrox faithful.

With just four goals in his first 17 appearances for his new club, the fanbase has not been shy in criticising the striker after his lacklustre start.

Again away in Prague, the 28-year-old did little to change fans’ views. He offered very little going forward and missed big chances before being hauled off for Danilo in the second half.

Rangers fans’ reactions were almost unanimously negative. Most believe he is not good enough to perform to the expected standard at Ibrox, with his latest performance doing nothing to improve his reputation.

One fan questioned former manager Michael Beale’s sanity for signing Dessers after his display.

Another suggested that the striker didn’t have the talent to play for Rangers’ B team.

Another fan claimed that Dessers was even worse than a previous underperforming Rangers forward – Eduardo Herrera.

One fan claimed Dessers was so poor that he would even struggle at a non-professional level.

Another fan, who disliked Dessers since his Rangers debut, claims this performance did nothing to change his opinion of the forward.

Another fan was angered by the fact he will have to endure Dessers and Sam Lammers each week.

One fan was keen to see Dessers dropped in favour of Danilo, who looked more lively coming on from the bench in Prague.
