Revealed: Tottenham docs show Daniel Levy is ahead of all other directors in one area

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is the highest-paid director in the Premier League, Football Insider can reveal.

As per Spurs’ latest 2021/22 accounts, Levy is paid an annual wage of £3.3million – a salary comparable with many of the club’s first-team players.

Levy’s pay is more than all other directors in the top flight, with Brighton’s Paul Barber in second place with a wage of around £2.9million per year.

Man City CEO Ferran Soriano is also expected to be on big wages at the Etihad Stadium, but last season’s treble winners were the only Premier League club to not disclose their director pay.

Levy has been at Tottenham since 2000 when ENIC first bought a stake in the North London club.

He joined the board following the investment and became the league’s youngest-ever chairman a year later after replacing Alan Sugar.

Levy was also previously a director at Rangers until 2004 after ENIC bought a significant stake in the Scottish club.

But his full attention has been on Tottenham for the past 19 years, with the club enjoying a huge growth in revenue under his tenure.

Levy also oversaw the club’s move from White Hart Lane to the newly constructed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019.

Tottenham were named the most profitable club in the Premier League for 2023 with a three-year operating income of £340million.

However, despite their financial off-pitch success, Tottenham have won just one League Cup during Levy’s tenure.
