'Disgrace' - Liverpool fans react to Tottenham topping the table days after VAR controversy

Liverpool fans on social media have been venting their frustration at Tottenham going top of the league this weekend following their win over Luton Town.

Spurs beat Jurgen Klopp’s side 2-1 last Saturday in dramatic fashion, with the Merseyside club coming away empty-handed after Luis Diaz’ first-half strike was incorrectly disallowed by VAR.

Despite Klopp’s suggestion of a replay and the club releasing a statement calling for ‘escalation and resolution’, the Merseyside club saw their unbeaten record crumble at the hands of Tottenham.

In contrast, Tottenham have maintained their unbeaten start to the league and their 1-0 win over Luton on Saturday (7 October) helped Ange Postecoglou’s side to the top of the Premier League standings.

Man City could still reclaim top spot by the end of the weekend, but Pep Guardiola’s side face a difficult trip to North London to face Spurs’ arch-rivals Arsenal.
