Kieran Maguire: Everton braced for multiple contract offers after confirmed news

Everton will receive more contract offers to host concerts and events at their new stadium because it was chosen as a host for Euro 2028.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the significance of Everton’s new stadium being included in the 2028 shortlist.

Everton’s Bramley Moore Dock stadium was selected on Tuesday (10 October) as one of 10 venues across the UK to host the upcoming European Championships.

The venue is still under construction but will have a capacity of 52,888 once completed.

The Toffees’ new stadium was picked ahead of Merseyside rivals Liverpool, who saw Anfield rejected because of issues surrounding their pitch size.

Everton expect their new stadium to be completed and available for use in late 2024.

Maguire explained that hosting the 2028 Euros will open up new opportunities for Everton to monetise their new stadium.

“I think Everton are looking to make a big statement with their new stadium,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

Being part of the Euro 2028 stadium shortlist will help to deliver that statementand what a statement.

We’ve seen the same in Manchester in the sense that the Etihad is going to be used instead of Old Trafford despite it having a smaller capacity.

“So I think Everton will be absolutely delighted and it will give them an opportunity to showcase the new stadium.

On the back of that, they will earn other contracts for concerts and alternative uses for the Bramley Moore Dock stadium.
