Elliott and Chambers start in 4-3-3, Gakpo handed new role: Liverpool predicted XI v Bournemouth

Liverpool will face Bournemouth in the League Cup last-16 round on Wednesday (1 November).

Off the back of their 3-0 Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest, Football Insider has predicted Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up.

Defence

Klopp will likely field a heavily rotated side, meaning backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher could get the nod after his three starts this season, including the Red’s 3-1 third-round win over Leicester City.

Youngster Luke Chambers could earn his second senior start of the season after featuring for 67 minutes in Liverpool’s 5-1 Europa League win over Toulouse, while Joe Gomez, who has struggled for starts in the major matches this season, could return to the fray.

Klopp may be keen for experience at the back, meaning Joel Matip could get a start and partner 20-year-old Jarell Quansah at centre-back.

Midfield

The Reds are blessed with creative midfielders so even a weakened side should be enough against the struggling Cherries.

Wataru Endo, who is yet to lose any game he’s started for Liverpool this season, could provide defensive solidity in the midfield to allow the more creative options to thrive.

If Ryan Gravenberch is held back for the Premier League clash against Luton Town on Sunday, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones could find themselves in more advanced roles to support Klopp’s attackers, but without a goal between them this season, they both will be eager to get on the scoresheet.

Attack

Klopp could select a virtual first choice attack against Premier League opposition, especially with Luis Diaz expected to be unavailable once again due to his family problems.

With Mohamed Salah likely to be rested, Liverpool may field a blue-chip front three of Diogo Jota, who has netted six goals in all competitions this season, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.

In other news, Liverpool have set their sights on signing Ajax sensation Devyne Rensch who he can play multiple roles.
