'VAR hates Spurs', 'We should ask for a replay' - Tottenham fans rage at handball controversy

Tottenham fans can’t believe VAR’s decision to allow Jordan Ayew’s Crystal Palace goal on Friday (27 October).

Football Insider has been gathering the reaction of Spurs supporters after Ayew appeared to handle the ball right before his late goal against the Lilywhites.

The Palace attacker managed to chest down a long ball and strike a volley right into the back of the net but replays appeared to show the ball hit Ayew’s arm as part of the move that saw the ball end up in the back of the net.

The onfield decision was to award the goal and following a lengthy VAR check the decision was that Ayew had not handled the ball.

Although Spurs won the game 2-1, the team and the fans still felt aggrieved by the decision with many taking to social media to share their frustrations.

One fan suggested that outside of the Liverpool game – where Luis Diaz’s goal was wrongly disallowed – VAR has not been kind to Spurs.
