Revealed: Crystal Palace on track to land £22m jackpot after green light

Crystal Palace are set to grow their annual matchday revenue to £22million following the expansion to Selhurst Park, Football Insider understands.

The Eagles are set to expand their home ground by constructing a new Main Stand which will add over 8,000 seats to the stadium’s capacity.

The London club posted matchday revenue of £14.1million in their latest 2021/22 accounts, but Palace hope to grow that figure to around £22million per season once the expansion is complete.

As revealed by Football Insider (12 October), the Eagles have been given the green light to begin their redevelopment of Selhurst Park.

Construction on the project is set to begin in the summer of 2024.

The stadium’s new Main Stand will have a total capacity of 13,500 while other areas of the ground are set to be renovated and a new fan zone built.

The new stand will have three tiers of seating, a new club shop, museum and cafe according to Palace’s official website.

Fans are also set to be offered new hospitality packages within the stand which will provide a further boost to matchday revenue figures.

Despite setting an initial budget of around £100million, it is understood that the project will now cost around £150million to complete.

Palace are currently in the process of hiring a main contractor to be responsible for their stadium project.

The club recently secured the relocation of residents living nearby the venue, which had previously delayed the start of construction.
