Revealed: Major update on Wolves, FFP and 'huge' Jan sale

Wolves are still susceptible to losing their best players to top clubs in the January window, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands club sold a handful of their top talents in the summer window to balance the books and help them meet Financial Fair Play regulations.

Ruben Neves, Matheus Nunes, Nathan Collins, Raul Jimenez and more all departed Molineux as Wolves raked in a reported total of almost £150million in transfer fees.

But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Gary O’Neil’s side are “not totally out of the woods yet” when it comes to FFP.

Sources say that Wolves will have to consider any “huge” offer that potentially arrives for any of their top stars.

One such player could be Pedro Neto, who has started the new Premier League season in stunning form.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (2 October) that Wolves are unwilling to let Neto leave the club in January amid continued interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners are long-term admirers and tried to sign the 23-year-old winger once again in the summer window.

However, it is believed Wolves are vulnerable to big offers for the Portugal international – who has notched one goal and four assists already this term.

Wolves sit 15th in the Premier League on seven points after their 2-1 win over Man City on Saturday (30 September).

O’Neil, who took over from Julen Lopetegui on the eve of the new season, was handed a few new signings in the closing stages of the summer window – including Strasbourg ace Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

The Midlands club are next in action against Aston Villa on Sunday (8 October).
