Revealed: Wolves stance on selling Arsenal target Pedro Neto in January - sources

Wolves are unwilling to let Pedro Neto leave the club in January amid continued interest from Arsenal, sources have told Football Insider.

He has been widely linked with the Gunners, who are long-term admirers and tried to sign the 23-year-old once again in the summer window.

Neto has been unlucky with injuries in recent seasons, missing a huge chunk of games in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns.

However, he has bounced back to top form at the start of the new campaign – playing every minute of all seven league games.

The Portugal international has been one of the best players in the Premier League this term, notching one goal and four assists – and leads his peers across Europe (as per FBRef) for touches, progressive carries, and creative output.

Neto’s contributions have ensured points for Wolves in games against Everton and Luton this season.

He is under contract at Molineux until June 2027 after penning a big-money, multi-year extension last year (2022).

The winger, who can play on both the left and right-hand side, joined Wolves in 2019.

He cost a reported fee of around £16million when he joined from Lazio, but his stock has risen somewhat since then – despite his struggles with injury.

Neto has played 118 times for the Midlands club, notching 12 goals and 17 assists.

He has also turned out four times for Portugal’s senior side, scoring once.

The 23-year-old returned to the fold at the international level in September, making his first senior appearance for Portugal since March 2021.
