Danilo and Souttar start in 4-3-3: Rangers predicted XI v Dundee

Rangers will face Dundee in the Scottish Premiership at Dens Park on Wednesday night (1 November).

After leaving it late to score twice and secure a 2-1 victory over Hearts in their last game which reignited their title hopes, Football Insider has predicted Philippe Clement’s fourth Rangers starting line-up.

Defence

After a strong defensive display, the manager may be keen to ensure stability at the back. Captain James Tavernier, after his equalising penalty at Ibrox against Hearts, will likely keep his place alongside Ridvan Yilmaz at full-back.

Clement could opt for John Souttar to partner Connor Goldson at centre-back, meaning Ben Davies could drop down to the bench.

A stable midfield is vital for Rangers and after strong performances from all players in their last game, Clement may make no changes at all here. John Lundstram has been solid for the Belgian manager, while Nicolas Raskin’s goal against Hibs has proved he can work in Clement’s system.

Cantwell’s absence was felt under Michael Beale and his creativity will be needed against Dundee, who have lost just two league games this season.

Attack

Abdallah Sima will likely remain in the starting line-up after his prolific start to life at Ibrox. He netted a brace in Clement’s debut league clash against Hibs and has amassed nine goals in all competitions this season. Sam Lammers’ form has improved drastically since Clement’s arrival and warrants another starting spot.

Cyriel Dessers could drop to the bench and be replaced by Danilo.

The Brazilian secured the Gers a late three points against Hearts with his 93rd-minute winner and looked very bright before his untimely injury setback. Now back and firing, Clement could favour Danilo over the misfiring Dessers.

In other news, Alan Hutton has dropped an “enormous” Rangers claim after development last week.
